Thursday 29th April 2010 - The Rose Bowl Cup v New Inn
Well the Falcon ladies darts team has not done so well in the league
but we have shone through in the cup. Yes the ladies of the Falcon
have won the Rose Bowl Cup.
The game consisted of five sets of pairs, each being the best of
three games. First up was Jacky and Linda who had a very easy time,
winning the set in just two games. Jean and Babs were up for the
second set, they took it to three games but were just pipped to the
post and the New Inn won this set. Next up was Carol and Tanya,
although they lost the first game, they came back twice as strongly
and won the next two games. This brought the score to 2 sets to 1 to
the Falcon. We only needed one more set to win the cup, so we
brought out our secret weapon, this took the form of our newest
recruit (who couldn't get a dart to stick in the board when she
started in September) Pat. Pat and Mary played the fourth set, Pat
won the first game and Mary finished the second - easy! Well done
all you ladies, at last John will have some nice silver on the shelf
next season.
The final score - The Falcon 3 New Inn 1

Thursday 11th March - 2010 - Home v New Inn
The Falcon ladies were in the semi-final of the cup, the match was
against the New Inn, Leven and we were in brilliant form. The cup
matches consist of five sets of doubles games, and the winner is the
first one to three wins. First up was Tania and Julie, they
convicingly won there match. Next up were Linda and Jackie and they
took the second set. If we could win the third set we would be
through, it was up to Mary and Coleen, no problem, they were out
third winners. Great darts from all the players - final score -
Falcon 3 New Inn 0.

Thursday 4th March 2010 - Away v Marine
Not a good night for the Ladies Darts again, I'm tempted to
say "we woz robbed" but that would not be fair. The ladies
did play very well but once again the finishing let them down. We
had high hopes when Pat, first up, went for the bull and got it
right in the middle; a high scoring game but when the oppostion
finished on 84 she did not have a chance. Carol was up next but even
though she had two scores of 92 and 85 it only proved the point
'it's scoring for show but doubles for dough', she also was pipped
at the post. Jacky was next with a 75 with her first three arrows
followed by a 50 but once again the doubles gremlin was at work and
she too was beaten to the finish. It was beginning to look like a
whitewash when Jean stepped up to the cckie, but with a high score
of 133 she got the finish, giving us our first win of the evening.
Linda was next, she scored brilliantly with a 74 followed by an 84
and a 51 and finished on double tops. Things were looking up, Tanya
was next, she had high score of 89 and 53 in her first two throws
but the win was not to be, leaving the scores 2-4 to the Marine. We
needed the next three games to win the match. Pat and Jean kicked
off the doubles, Pat starting with a 72 and Jean a 73 but once again
they came second. Carol and Linda were up next, Carol's highest
score was 115 and was rewarded with a finish to bring the scores to
3-5. It was all for the honour of the darts team in the last game
and unfortunately Jackie and Tanya were beaten in the last leg, so
the score finished at Marine 6 Falcon 3. It was a good night and the
scoring was excellent but the finshing let us down. We are at home
next week in a cup match against the New Inn. Wish us luck.

Thursday 18th Feb 2010 - Home v Sun Inn
3-6 Loss
Another disappointing result for the Ladies darts team, playing at home to the Sun Inn. Clare played the 1st game although she played really well with good consistant scoring she was pipped at the post. Linda was up next, she had an excellent score of 132 with 3 darts and that combined with a double 1 finish was enough to win her game.. We had high hopes for Jackie as she took to the ockie scoring 117 with her 1st 3 arrows but disappointingly she was beaten again. Jean and Carol followed both losing even though Carol had an opening score of 70 followed by 102. Last but by no means least, it down to vice-captain Mary to save the day which she did in fine style winning her game. So the score being 2-4 after the individuals it was now up to the pairs. If we could win all three games we would have won the match. The 1st game was Pat and Mary, both teams were on double 8 to finish, The Sun just sneaked in to win the game. Carol and Clare played second they had a storming game and won quite convincingly. Last up was Landlady Julie and Coleen, they both played brilliantly and it was a big disapointment when they were narrowly beaten. Final score 3-6 to The Sun. No match next week but we are going into the Falcon for a practice. If anyone wants to join us they will be more than welcome. Next match 4 March at the Marine.

Thursday 11th Feb 2010 - Away v Bay Horse, Arnold
6-3 Loss
The Falcon Ladies Darts team had a trip out to The Bay Horse at Arnold this week. Tanya was the first to step up to the ockie, Unfortunately she was pipped at the post and so was Jean who was up next. Clare gave us a glimmer of hope by winning her match quite covincingly but Mary, Linda and Jacky all lost their games even though the standard of their darts was very impressive, especially from Jacky who scored and amazing 138. Once again we needed to win all our doubles games to make the scores respectable. Jean and Linda made the grade with a double 1 finish, the Carol and Jacky won theirs on double 2, then disaster struck again, Pat and Clare lost the last match making the final score 6-3. We consoled ourselves with a fantastic supper provided by the Landlord and a promise to win next week at home playingThe Sun Inn . Watch this space.

Thursday 28th Jan 2010 - Home v Hornsea Ex Servicemen's
Club
4-5 Loss
The Falcon ladies darts team suffered another loss again this week at the the hands of Hornsea Ex-servicemens but by the narrowest of margins. The whole team played excellently and every time they were just pipped at the post. Carol lost the first game needing 9 to finish when the opposition finished on double 5, Tanya was next to drop a point although she played really well she needed double 14 when her opponent went straight out with a classic double 16 finish. Jacky then stopped the rot with a blistering 35 finish, then unfortunately both Mary and Pat lost their games, again they both played well but couldn't get the finish. Clare played the last singles game and gave us the much needed win. The scores were the 2-4 for the singles. It was all on the pairs, if we could win all 3 games we would win the match, sadly we lost the first match (Coleen and Jean), but then Mary and Tanya came back with a win making the score much more respectable at 3-5 and the Linda and Jacky finished the match with a win making the final score 4-5. It was a good game, we did play well but Ex Servicemens were the better team on the night. No match next week, next match Feb 11 Bay Horse at Arnold.

Thursday 21st Jan 2010 - Away v Pike and Heron, Hornsea
6-3 Loss
There was a slight set back to The Falcon Ladies Darts Team winning
run last night at the Pike and Heron. Linda got the side
up to a cracking start by winning her game, although Mary played
exceptionally well she was just pipped at the post and lost her
match. Tanya pulled it back with a great finish on double 5
but then disaster struck with Carol, Clare and Pat all losing their
individuals. Babs and Linda played first in the pairs,
followed by Coleen and Clare, again they were all unfortunate
to lose. The honour of The Falcon was left in the hands of Pat
and Jackie, who came in with fantastic win, making
a fairly respectable score of 6-3. At home to Ex-Servicemens
next week - watch this space.

Thursday 14th Jan 2010 - Home v Traveller's Rest, Long Riston
6-3 Win
The Falcon
Ladies Darts team got off to a good start fort the 2nd half of the
season. Linda and Babs took some time to settle and unfortunately
lost their games, Mary then started the comeback with a double 1
finish, Jean levelled the scores with a double 2 finish. Jackie lost
her game but Carol levelled the score again finishing on double 10.
So all square going into the pairs.
Pat and Tanya played an excellent game Pat finishing on
double 2, next Babs and Clare pulled it further forward with another
double 1 finish and Carol and Jackie won the last game with another
double 1 finish.
