The Floods of June 2007

Continuous heavy rain fell on East Yorkshire over the 24th/25th June 2007.
Many places were severely flooded, parts of Hull suffered very badly.
In Withernwick the Lambwath Stream, normally a very benign trickle, burst its banks.
The only direct flooding in the village was down at South End near to Manor Farm.
(There may have been other local flooding but we have no record of any).

The Lambwath stream, normally a trickle is in the foreground.

Looking from the School, a little further east.
The stream is in the foreground, but there is also further flooding in the distance.
