Whitedale Station 
1957  

  These photos were taken at Whitedale Station in 1957.
The  photos were taken for an article in the Hull Daily Mail.
This less than 10 years before the line from Hull to Hornsea was shut
by the Beeching plan of the 1960's.
The first three show Hubert Harsley in the Signal box,
the last one shows Hubert with Station master Albert Nelson Train.
In the photo below you can see modernisation occurring already,
through the window can be seen a diesel DMU travelling from Hornsea to Hull,
for much of the station's life services would have been operated by steam trains.
By this time Britsh Railways had taken over from the LNER.
