| Eight photographs showing the
dedication of the War Memorial - early 1920's (does anyone know the exact
date, I'm sure it will be recorded somewhere). Obviously it was a very grand and significant occasion, the trauma of the First World War was still fresh in people's minds. It would be good to know the names of the various dignitaries, the only name so far is in the first photo - The most important men are the veterans, then still young men, proudly wearing their medals. The 10 names on the War Memorial from World War 1 are of those that didn't come home - click here. |
